On December 1, 1995 there was a little girl named Ziyla and her parents on the Montgomery bus. On this typical evening a very rushing hour a 42 year old women, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. She was on her way home from work. Rosa Parks was a seamstress at the Montgomery Fair Department store. The bus driver, whose name is Joseph Blake, asked three African Americans to move and one was Rosa Parks.
On the city buses of Montgomery, Alabama, the front 10 seats were reserved for white passengers. When the bus became crowded, the bus driver instructed Rosa Parks and the other three passengers seated in that row, all African Americans, to vacate their seats for the white passengers boarding. Eventually, three of the passengers moved, while Rosa Parks remained seated, arguing that she was not in a seat reserved for whites. Joseph Blake, the driver, believed he had the discretion to move the line separating black and white passengers.
Ziyla was so scared! She was too young to know what was going on. She thought to herself why can’t those three ladies just sit where they want? Every time Ziyla got on the bus she knew there was certain seats where people count not seat, She did not know why though. She wanted to ask her parents but they didn't like to talk about those people. Her parents always told her to not look to look at them are talk to them. When she look back to where Rosa was refusing to give up her seat she saw the bus driver on the phone talking. Rosa was where she was seating before. Ziyla didn’t know who the bus driver was talking to when the police came. The police told Rosa Parks she was getting arrested for not giving up her seat when asked to. When Ziyla was watching, Rosa looked pleased with herself. Rosa did not look mad at all.
When Rosa Parks was in jail Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. came to see her. That was the day when Dr.King and Rosa was going to fight for their rights. They did not think it was one bit right to treat African American like this just because of the color of their skin. White people treated African American like they were not worth anything. Rosa Parks marched in the boycotts. She refuse to change seats. She did not let what white people sad get under her skin. Rosa Parks is a strong, brave and encouraging lady. She said what she thought needed to be said. Rosa Parks is my role model!

Some people exercise for their health and other people exercise to lose weight. People run to lose weight. Some people race each other when they run. Some people walk to get alone time and some people walk to lose weight. If I walk I will do it to get alone time or lose weight. People play dodge ball to have fun. When I play dodge ball I have fun. The gym is a fun place to play games. You can play all sorts of games.

One day I went in my backyard and saw a dragon. It was my pet and it told me to get on his back. So we can fly away. We went to a candy shop and ate all the candy. I had so much fun with my dragon. He was my best friend. Every day after school I played with him and I had fun. But one day I could not find him. He had laid eggs and I had fun with the babies. He was like my family. I wish he would bring me everywhere. One day he shot fire out and saved the farm animals from the fire. It was awesome. The we went to his cave and had a blast sleeping in the cave. His kids laid in a circle around me and keep me warm and safe so we had fun.

On December 7th, 1941, there were three hints of danger, none of which were taken as warnings. The people of Pearl Harbor weren’t afraid… at least, until bombs started dropping.
One of the many people on Pearl Harbor was an elderly woman named Velvet Paw-Eir, who was Swedish, French, and Italian. She was a peace lover. And she was going to get on a big boat, the U.S.S. Arizona, to be exact.
As Velvet got on the boat, she saw hundreds of planes fill the sky. The planes flew so low that Velvet could see their goggles. She could tell that the men were Japanese because of the huge red circles on the wings of the planes.
The boat had lots of cargo and parcels. Strangely, it was deserted, all except for Velvet. The water was not very deep, so Velvet decided to jump into the water, as the boat gave her the creeps.
Just as Velvet hit the water, the U.S.S. Arizona burst into flames. Velvet was a very strong swimmer, so she made it to the docks, stood under them, and waited for the attack to be over. Velvet ended up getting a bad cold, a coughing fit, and a sore throat.

There once was a kid named Aaron and he wanted to teach his brother Vincent how to play football. The first thing Aaron told Vincent was you have to get the football ready. When you have the football ready you have to find the laces you also have to put your hands on the laces and put it behind your ear. Throw the football. Aaron will get his hands ready to catch the football once Vincent throws it back.

Alligators have really strong scales, they also have eyes on the top of their heads, they drag their prey under water, and kill it by drowning it under water. Snakes have heat vision and venom, they shed their skin and they swallow their prey whole. It takes the snake along time to break it down. Geckos are fast, they eat insects, and if a predator steps on it’s tail it can break it off. Frogs are born in water; they start as a tadpoles and turn into a frog. It’s skin is smooth they have long legs and hops far. When a Komodo Dragon bites its prey it spit is venomous, it turns its prey into mush, and it is known as the biggest lizard.

Once upon time was there two teams playing soccer. Two kids got hurt that’s why you need soccer gear. The soccer gear you’ll need is shin pads, arm guards, cleats, and soccer gloves. You're also going to need a soccer ball. If you join a soccer league, there is usually a soccer field you go to play on. There are six players on each team. The team color I like to play for is the red team. When the game is over, some teams go get ice cream.

Alexandra, 5th Grade, Pinecrest Center
Once there was a girl named Alexandra and she didn’t know how to write a proper sentence. She did some research and found out that every beginning of a sentence has to start with a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence.
So, I told the Alexandra that the proper way to write sentence is you have to have a subject. That means you have to write about a person, place, thing, or idea that is doing or being something. You can find the subject of a sentence if you find the verb.
You’re probably wondering what a verb is, well I’ll tell you! A verb carries the idea being or acting in the sentence.
Conjunctions are words such as: are, and, but, or, yet, for, nor, so! These words will help you write detailed sentences.
And you definitely have to have end punctuation at the end of every sentence. You could ask a question and use a question mark (?). If you’re really excited you can use an exclamation mark (!). Or, if you are just simply ending a sentence, you use a boring period (.).

One day three kids were craving cupcakes. So they baked one dozen cupcakes. While they were waiting they thought about how they were going to split them evenly. Then the cupcakes were done cooking so they took them out still wondering how they were gonna split them evenly. So one of them called their mom and asked her how they could split them evenly. She said to take one out of the container until they are gone and in even piles. She said you each should have four cupcakes. One of the kids said yes! The kids were excited to learn that 12 divided by three is four. They shouted, "Yay now we know how to divide!"

One boy got a time machine for Christmas. He had a total shock! He went to bed that night and felt kind of shaky and fell into the time machine and it was set to the 1950’s! When he got there he saw weird things and was dressed in a weird outfit. He went downstairs and saw a table with a family that looked like his. His name was Charlie and was known all over town as a menace. He found out WWII was happening and had a weird reaction to that and that made his family have a weird reaction too. They thought he was a space alien or something. His family called the cops and they came as fast as they could come which was ten minutes. When he got outside he saw weird cars then he heard Johnny Cash, he is a country singer. After years and years he was old and still trapped in time then he died old and sad.

One day when I listened to Wiz Kid’s music I fell in love. I like the picture of him wearing sunglasses because it reminds me of his happy songs. Sometimes I joke around and him my boyfriend. I like to go on YouTube and listen to his music with my cousin. When I am at home we listen to his music for fun. I think he that is a good guy because he seems to love his family. He is from Nigeria. I really love Wiz Kid’s music.

World War Two
By: Yorsh
This is Yorsh and I was one of the many German soldiers that fought in World War II. I was one of Hitler's bodyguards\soldiers. Wherever Hitler went, I went. I never wanted to be a complete killer. There were so many Jews killed for no reason at all. I never wanted to be the monster I was. I had to kill a friend from America because America chose to fight against us. The first first day of training was when I was sixteen. I was then placed at a concentration camp. Its name is Auschwitz. We told the Jews to strip down and tie their shoelaces together because it would help keep track of them. Then we tricked them by making them go into the gas chamber.

There I sat in my cell for crimes I did not do. I watched the Battle of Alcatraz start. It all started when I saw six men break out of their cells. The six men made their way to the gun gallery. I watched them strangled the guard that was in charge of the gun gallery. The next thing I know gunfire broke out in the halls and I ducked under my bed. Then the gunfire stopped and I crawled out from under my bed. The men took the guards hostage and put them in cells 403 and 404. The inmates locked the doors and took the keys from the guards that opened all doors in Alcatraz except they didn't have the recreation yard key, I knew they had to make a mistake sooner or later. The guard hid that key and I heard that he had flushed it down the toilet in the cell he was being held hostage in. The inmates then made their way to D Block and unlocked some other inmates including me. Now is the part where I tell you that I was the leader of the whole operation. They handed me a sniper and a Tommy Gun. I carried the sniper gun I was not using on my back. It was daytime so the tower watchmen could see us.
The battle lasted two days. So, that night I went out with my sniper and took out the guards in the guard towers. Then the spotlights light was coming near me and then I shot out the lights I then yelled, “Lights out!” That was the signal to my six teammates to grab snipers themselves and go to the towers. I made my way to the main tower that was facing San Francisco that way I could shoot all boats that tried to stop us. We had what seemed like a lifetime supply of bullets and we hadn’t even gone through two boxes.
The sun was starting to rise I was still sleeping but staying down I then grabbed my radio because I heard gunfire I asked my men what the heck is going on they said it is the guards their coming towards the island I said act like the hit you then fall down in your booth but keep your gun pointed at the door. I told my right hand man, Shockley, to go down and kill the guards in the cells he said he needed back up I sent three men to go with him they ended up shooting the guards as one was starting to write my name. So my name was not there we were shooting more and more until the last bullet was shot we had no more ammo. So the marines flew on top of the roof and dropped grenades into the cell house and killing all my men. I jumped from the tower into a giant wave and let it carry me to San Francisco. I made it but then I was captured and brought back me and some more men are talking about doing the same thing again.
